Fan-tasia 2003
Went for my first convention yesterday! Was certainly... eventful.
Went in at 10+ to set up with nescienx and met kannazuki on the walk to our booth. She looked cool in her costume ^_^ *sheepish* Don't know who she was cosplaying as, though. Saw ranchelle too, on the way to the booth, dressed as the Fool! ^__^ Was amazed that the costume was completed in only 2.5 days @_@ Only other thing that the costume needed was a Fitz ;) Met nescienx's friend zephyus, whose costume was Awesome. Effect of her fantastic arm attachment was somewhat spoiled by the mini candy cane nescienx affixed to it, though *grin*
Got to meet Kierran, who solemnly observed the convention proceedings from his perch on our table, and graciously sat quietly while various passers-by oogled, squeed and clamoured to take his picture. ^_^ Did not even blink when some called him a her, and wondered if he was naked under the black cloth his mistress had swathed around him. ^-^ He wasn't of course. Accidentally knocked off his hair a few times during the course of the day ^^; Only managed to sell 2 bookmarks and the half page print of Lego (said sale was to a guy, not a fangirl, for anyone interested =P) but then again i hadn't really expected to sell anything, so... =P Lots of lovely costumes (though i didn't know who half were ^^;;), beautiful art, but by far the best part of the whole experiance was the people =) Unfortunately, baka camera battery died half way so could only take a handful of photos >_<

Saw majokai, looking, bloody and leggy. And two guys staring at said legs. Lev was at the stall next to ours, and was dressed as... well, i'm not sure *what* exactly. An angel of some kind, i think? Though i rather agree with those who said he looked like Gandalf the Shiny White minus rebonded hair >=D Did not help that the LotR party didn't have a Gandalf. Had Elrond (sadly, not in Pretty Purple Robes), Galadriel, Lego, Sam and Frodo, Arwen, Eowyn, Boromir, Aragorn (i think) and two Wraiths. Palantir they had was actually a clear plastic Christmas bauble you can buy from Spotlight, which can be opened so you may insert things inside. Their Sam and Frodo were cute, complete with hairy feet and Sam with his cooking pots and pans on his knapsack ^o^ Saw a few Arwens, one in the Dream gown (pretty but way translucent when she stood near windows), one in her Hope gown (blue with silver sleeves) and the last in the Mouringing gown. Saw two Legos, but neither as pretty as kannazuki's. Also spotted some Hogwarts students, Gryffindors and Slytherins in normal school uniforms, and a Quiddich!Draco.
Spent most of the con sitting at our booth, and didn't go watch the performances, which was prbably the main point of attending such conventions ^^; But was content to watch the cosplayers walk by and to chat to friends who came ^_^
*glomps anyasy, la_muerta and the other WCers who came* All together, 3 generations of WCers turned up ^_^ Had the pleasure of introing some of the juniors to one of my seniors. Unfortunately, most of them didn't arrive at the same time, so we couldn't take a group photo. Though did later take one with the two seniors who came, and aefallen. Was great to see all of them again. Also met nescienx's friend Cheryl, also a former TKGian, who came and sat at us at the booth for part of the day (and kindly helped us buy lunch from BK)^_^ Sighted one SMU person, who's in my Java course, at the con as well, though don't think she saw me. Most unexpected meeting was with one of the former Millenium Dreamers ^_^ She was dressed as a chara from Hikaru no Go (sp?) i think, the one with the tall black pointy hat. Exchanged handphone and email adds, and promised to let her know if i'm going for the next con ^_^ Apparently this was her third convention already. Was very pleasant surprise to meet her there; lost touch with the other Dreamers after a while, and of them, she was probably the one i was closest to. Was delighted to see aefallen when she turned up, in her Mia dress as promised for the Professor ;) Blind bat that i am, did not see her until she was standing right in front of the booth table and gave me a hug ^_^; *hugs back* Wish you could've stayed longer, but it was wonderful to get to see you again, even for that while. And *hearts* the placards XDDD
Started feeling ill during the afternoon >_< Probably due to not drinking enough, or because the cheese in the burger had been off. Felt bad for stallmates and friends who came over, as was probably rather bad company ^^; Headache got progressively worse as time wore on. Was good in a sense that i couldn't join la_muerta, nescienx and ranchelle for dinner after the con, for what ensued in the car after i left would most definitely have put you off eating ^^; Suffice to say that was not joking when said i felt nauseous earlier. >_<;;
*hugs aefallen tightly* Because words are inadequate to express my thanks. i hope i didn't distress you >_< It's just... my tearducts seem to take perverse joy in doing the opposite of what i want. Was partially the headache (would have borrowed wynter_myst's friend's sickle to knock myself out, if thought it would have alleviated the ache. Though Kierran probably would not have appreciated a blood bath.) and partly the realisation that that would be the last time i'd see both you and nescienx for the next 6 months. It's silly, i know, especially since we'll all still meet online and on LJ, and i should've made full use of the bit of time we had and enjoyed it instead of going all leaky-eyed, but... *smiles wryly* As another Fool said, i have never been wise. Please don't feel bad on my account. You were fantastic =) Am realising even now that it sounds like i'm fangirling you, but do not care. You are Infinitely Worthy of Fangirling. *holds up your sign* "Excuse me while i fangirl you" *grin* You left them at the booth, so la_muerta, ranchelle, nescienx and i carted them off. i believe Lev ran off with your "Marry me please"... *grins, smirks, eyes Lev and Serry, hums Wedding March*
