Rufus Shin-Ra, noted the red-haired Turk, was a very capable man, capable of surviving a building collapsing on him, orchestrating the death of his father by the very weapon the man had created, even fighting through the ravages of Geostigma with a steely determination that refused to wane, even when the disease sapped all strength from him, and left him barely able to breathe.
But there was one thing Rufus Shin-Ra could not do.
Rufus Shin-Ra could not sing.
The President of the Shin-Ra Electric Company hit another false note, and Reno's grip tightened involuntarily over the can he was holding. His was a mind capable of calculating, in a heartbeat, how much dynamite it took to blow up a weapons facility, of assessing the best way to infiltrate a building, of extracting information from even the most intractable suspect. Finally, all the training that life as a Turk had given Reno came to good use, as Reno put his mind to work in an attempt to figure out whether it was best to risk involuntarily hearing loss courtesy of the President's performance, or to risk his boss's wrath by putting his hands over his ears during Rufus's soulful rendition of "I Left My Heart in Midgar City".

Poor drabble!Reno! XD It's like. So sad I'm not in the FF fandom. But Reno! He is soooo easy to love.
And that artwork is hilarious. ^_____^ You sure find a lot of cool artwork! (even for your other fandoms, namely, Abyss).

(On a side note, it seems that Rufus wasn't really in that bad a state after all; according to a translated interview, he could walk fine, he's just a drama queen XDD)

Your fic is interesting and I will have to spend a bit more time reading it when I get the chance. Although I don't know much (if anything) about the FF7 universe, I think you've captured some interesting themes in your writing.

Eheh, don't need to unless there's really nothing better to do XD;; Actually didn't play any of the games, but did a lot of research when i became interested in it for some reason. Other than fun, i'm really writing this fic to work out/explore my thoughts on various subjects and ways of life.

Was also imagining his mom telling a horrified teenage!Reno, "OHHHH, you were so CUTE as a baby!
