After a long day I came home to this lovely image:

So I had to write another dragonRay AU ficlet. G Rated.
The Mountie and the Green Dragon - Scarf
Ray knew that Fraser had many different skills. He could light fires, cook food, carve things form wood and other practical things. It was very useful living with a human like Fraser who was so good at those things. Ray was still surprised by the skills Fraser had. Like today, for example.
Fraser was sitting on one of the chairs he'd made with a ball of wool. He appeared to be using two sticks to do something with the wool. Ray flopped down in front of him, half lying down to get a better view.
“What are you doing, Benny?”
Fraser looked up form his work. “Knitting, Ray. Using wool to make clothes.”
“By making knots on sticks?” Ray asked.
“Yes, that's the idea, Ray.”
It seemed strange to a dragon's mind. “Oh. Okay. What are you knitting?”
“I'd rather not say, Ray,” Fraser replied.
“Why?”
“It's a surprise,” Fraser replied, unsure.
Ray wasn't sure what his human was up to. Maybe when Fraser wore it it would be a surprise. “Oh, okay.”
Ray just lay there, watching Fraser knit, It was a very hypnotic sight. So much so Ray found himself yawning and falling asleep. When he woke up the knitting had disappeared and Fraser didn't mention it for days.
“Ray?” Fraser asked as Ray looked outside.
“Yeah, Benny?”
“I'm going out to collect some firewood,” Fraser said. “Do you want to come?”
Ray looked outside. “It's cold.”
Fraser brought out a bundle of wool. “I did you knit this, Ray.”
Ray looked at the multi-coloured woollen thing. “What is it?”
“It's a scarf, Ray.”
“Oh,” Ray paused. “What's a scarf?”
“I'll show you Ray,” Fraser said. He took the long wool thing and wrapped it around Ray, getting caught up in the process. “What do you think?”
“It is warmer,” Ray admitted. He hugged Fraser. “Really warm now. I can't believe you made this for me,” he said, blushing.
“Well, my motives weren't entirely altruistic,” Fraser replied.
“Really?”
Fraser hugged him closer.
“Oh, right,” Ray said. “Thank you, Benny.”
“You're welcome, ray.”
Luckily the scarf was long enough that they could both wear it and move about relatively easily. Ray wondered how Fraser had managed to knit it all so quickly. But then his human was very talented.
