This is the house we're looking to buy:

You can see how far it is from the road, with the front garden on the right and the firepit area on the left. The right property line runs a little behind that garden on the hill, and then straight back, pretty much. The left property line is two acres to the left, lol.

A different angle on the garden in the front yard. You can see the closest neighbor up on the hill, though we were told when the trees were fully covered you can't see the house at all. It's also a lot farther forward towards the road than our house is. It looks sorta desolate right now, but there are perennials in that garden.

Opposite side of the driveway from the garden is a cleared area with a firepit. It's hard to tell from the picture but it's actually down a little hill, so set below the level of the driveway and the house. You can also sort of see the stream that runs through the front yard in the background.

The pool. Not looking so hot at the moment, though it hasn't been opened for the season at this point. The deck surrounding it actually has three different levels, but it's mainly just a neat place to lounge around. You can't really tell, but right behind the deck the land rises up in a hill.

Front of the house, though it's dusk so not well lit. You can see the two bay windows on the upper level, right hand side. I love the flowering tree, it looks really pretty right now.

View just inside the front door, up the stairs to the great room (ie, Living Room/Kitchen/Dining Room).

Dining Room section of the Great Room. You can see the screen door exit to the back deck, as well as the vaulted ceilings.

Kitchen and the dining room. The island is on wheels, so is movable.

On the upper level there is also a master bedroom and a full bath, then two more bedrooms and a 3/4 bath that is off the washer/dryer room. Yes, on the upper level, and near the master bedroom. Talk about convenience!

When you go downstairs instead of up you walk into the family room, which is very large and has two of my favorite parts of the house:

Yay, gas fireplace! This is where I'll be parked most of the cold season. Also because the back half of the room looks like this:

I'm pretty sure I can't actually fill all those right now, but it's a challenge I'm willing to take on. That's also only two of the three walls that look like that. So many bookshelves!

The rest of the lower level contains a utility room, two bedrooms, another full size bathroom, and an unfinished storage room. The lower level has a door that leads into the garage from the family room.

The back of the house has a 14 x 14 deck with stairs down to the ground. There isn't much behind the house other than that, as pretty much right behind the deck there's a hill. Other than the house and the cleared area for the fire pit and a little side yard, the rest of the acreage is all wooded, and very hilly. We've talked about putting in some steps and setting up a nice place to sit, but that would probably be a few years down the road.

So that's the place. We are hoping to hear about the purchase agreement in the next day or so, then the inspections and such, and close mid-June. And then comes the moving and the painting and all that kind of thing! Gonna be a busy summer if this goes through.
