Panic at the Disco put on the most amazing show tonight. Seriously besides the stupidity of the crowd and some personal frustrations I have never been to a better show. The opening bands were pretty good, the first was ok but the second one seriously kicked ass so if you get the chance listen to The Hush Sound I would highly highly recommend it. After the opening bands things started to slide down hill first of all because Ashbe ditched me to go to the front of the crowd so she could see. I understand why and I wish I could have followed but the damn crowd was too fucking tight. So I thought I had a good eye on her but we will get to that later.
Now before Panic at the Disco even comes on there is a rush to the stage which is bullshit, Panic is not the type of band that has stage rush's. So Panic finally comes on and the crowd gets worse. Panic is rocking but I can't get into because the crowd is constantly shoving this way or that and I have to focus on not knocking people around me down because I am a big guy so I can't really get into it. So the crowd is gay. Only after they take an intermission to change clothes does the crowd calm the fuck down and allows me to enjoy the show.
Now as for the FUCKING AMAZING performance by Panic. They open the set up with "The Only Difference between martyrdom and suicide is press coverage" which is a great song but as stated before due to crowd issues I couldn't get into it. The song I was most able to enjoy during the 1st set would either be when they played "I Write Sins not Tragedies" or when they covered "Karma Police", and they did an amazing fucking job. So they go to intermission after the first set and a somewhat interesting burlesque kinda show goes on and it was interesting but frankly I was fucking hot and in a huge fucking crowd of teenagers and I just wanted to finish the show and get out of that crowd. To my surprise though the crowd mellos and becomes what it should be. The second set destroyed the first in terms of song selection and quality, at least in my opinion. They played my 3 favorite Panic songs, "Lying is the Most Fun a Girl can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off", "There's a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet", and "Build God, Then We'll Talk". It was by far a fucking amazing set. Now here is the best part of the whole show to me and it wasn't even a Panic song. It was a song I never thought I would have a chance to hear live in concert. They covered "Tonight, Tonight" which is probably my favorite song by my favorite band. It was fucking amazing and it cracked me up to see all these teenagers looking at me weird as I go fucking crazy because they were playing that song. GOD IT ROCKED!!!
So yeah the sets were amazing and then you go into the overall performance. Panic is from Vegas and if you have ever seen there videos they are very much dramatic and..... burlesque??? They love the make up and the acting and it shows by there performance. They had 3 actors on stage 2 HOT woman and a guy. They pretty much performed... clown like?? Not really clown like but... Caberet like? They act out the songs and put on shows that make sense for the music. It really is amazing and should be seen. Without what they did it would be a so so performance. The actual band put plenty of energy into the show especially the lead singer (hehe it is kinda his job).
So here comes the one thing that fucked up my night. So as I said earlier Ashbe ditched me to head closer to the band which is perfectly cool. I thought I knew where she was the entire time. I was completely fucking wrong. During the second song of the 1st set she had fallen down due to the rushing and pushing of the crowd (SERIOUSLY FUCK ARIZONA CROWDS!)and got trampled. Luckily she got pulled out by a security guard. I didn't find out about this until the end of the night when I couldn't find her. I was really mad that this had happened to her on the concert I took her to on her birthday and even more angry that I wasn't there to help her and protect her when it happened. Just think about it still pisses me off. Never again does she get away from me at a concert in the crowd. If its too tight for me to follow people are moving as I shove them out of the way. She doesn't get hurt like that again... EVER. After talking to Ashbe I am happy to say that because the show was SO amazing that once she got out of the crowd and towards the back she still had a great time and loved it, but it still angers me that it could have been better if I had just been up there with her and made sure she didn't fall or even if she had she would not have gotten trampled if I was there, I wouldn't have let it happen.
Forgetting the stupidity that apparently runs rampant in Arizona at concerts (At least I didn't have to break up a fight tonight!) and the suckiness and frustration of what happened Ashley it was seriously the best show I have ever been to. Go see them if you can.
P.S. FUCK THE MARQUEE THEATRE.
P.P.S. This concert got me to make a HUGE LJ post whichh I never ever do, so thats how good it was.
