okay last time i posted in here i mentioned that i was working to start turning my life around and get back into school. well, here's what's going on with that:
I can't.
At least not yet anyways. turns out i was still in default which was hindering me from getting financial aid. i thought to myself,"self? these really should be done by now. whatever is going on?" well i done went and called up those fine folks and found out i'm in the hole by $12,000. i thought i only had the one loan to worry about. Nope, according to the lady i actually spoke to ny state colleges do this a lot where they throw paperwork underneath the face of a confused student, not tell them that it is a loan and not allow them to take it home where things can be figured out.
So as it turns out i took out loans this way for every semester after my parents died and didn't know it and there's not a damn thing i can do in terms of retribution outside of writing an angry letter and sealing the envelope glue with my tears.
It also didnt help that the same day i went to get my car inspected and to get the wobbling of my wheels fixed and i was told that my car was running on borrowed time since the timing chain was going and everything was about to kersplode (in the vernacular) and any money i would be spending on fixing this would be wasted since the problem with dodge intrepids is that they all have this flaw (to the point where junkyards wont sell engine parts) and even if i fix it it's going to happen again (which wouldnt surprise me since this would be the second time this would happen).
On the plus side. I can do a payment plan where i do $130 a month (on top of the weekly $50 i pay now) for 9 months (or 9 consecutive payments) and after 6 months (payments) i can apply for financial aid which would work out in time for school. I did get a new car. Much more fuel efficient and smaller so i feel a lot more confident driving this. It's a 2007 blue chevy aveo. If you see it many Jeff Dunham jokes apply and my niece already offered to put sparkly stickers in the back window for me so dont bother. That's about $240 a month. So now i've only got about $50 a week to use for minor bills and food and whatnot but i managed to find a stray wifi signal once in a while so i can connect from time to time.
Overall, not too bad. Gonna be looking for a second job until school can start and by then a buddy of mine might be moving in so that'll help things a lot. Looking on the bright side and i've got plenty to be happy about.
okay kids, just thought i'd let you know the situation since so many of you showed concern. thank you for your patronage ;-) and i'd like to thank tonia for helping me out to get started with my financial aid.
i'll chat at you folks later.
love always,
moo
