Reply to this post with the words "FANTASTIC ELASTIC" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your journal and explain what they mean to you.

1. Battle Royale

One of my favourite films ever, and the one that first got me into the Asia Extreme genre - if that even counts as a genre (it didn't get me into Asian horror - Ring has that particular honour - because, let's face it, it isn't a horror movie, in spite of what some people say). It's exciting, action-packed, very funny in places and also extremely sad. And it's packed with awesome characters, which makes it even sadder in the sense that most of them die horribly (which, obviously, won't come as a surprise to those of you who know what the movie's about).

2. Silent Hill

One of my favourite game franchises of all time, and the survival horror genre franchise which scares me the most. I've replayed the first four games a ridiculous amount of times, and they still freak me out. (Sorry Resident Evil, you're awesome and you're scary and I love you, but you just don't scare me as much as SH.) I still have yet to play Origins and Homecoming, and, in spite of my reservations about it, I am looking forward to Shattered Memories (as long as it doesn't re-write the series canon as a whole, me and that game will get along just fine). They're extremely clever games, they have atmosphere in buckets, and loads of great characters. I love the movie, too, unlike most people.

3. Soul Calibur

Another one of my favourite game franchises. Soul Blade was the first ever game I played in an arcade (I sucked at it at the time, but I was hooked), and was the first fighting game I played. (Incidentally, it bugs me that so many people haven't even heard of that game and assume that Soul Calibur is the first in the series, but I suppose it's understandable.) The characters I tend to use the most are Raphael, Taki, Seong Mi-na, Cassandra, Amy and Talim, and I used to use Sophitia and Siegfried a lot back in the day. I want to get better as Ivy, Zasalamel and Voldo, but I'm not having much luck on that front.

4. Kayako/Karen

I have many crack pairings from the Ju-on/The Grudge franchise, but Kayako/Karen is the one that speaks the most to me. It's my crack OTP. I started seeing it in the first Grudge movie, but The Grudge 2 just sealed it for me. Am I insane? Quite possibly. Silly macro aside, I don't 'ship them for humourous purposes. Nor do I see it as a fluffy, happy relationship (then I probably would look like a total loony). It's all manner of dark and incredibly fucked-up, and I imagine extremely hard to write well (dunkle_feuer did an amazing job of it - and I'm pimping said fic here, because it's frelling brilliant) - I'd like to try one day, though.

5. PUNI PUNI POEMY

Because it's pure CRACK, it's hilarious, it's completely fucking insane, and definitely not one to watch around little kiddies or your parents. It's essentially an enormous parody of anime clichés, and it does a bloody hilarious job of it.

In other news - Euan has a job interview later! *crosses fingers* Let's hope it goes well. <3
