The Grudge 3 trailer, and Premonition/Yogen

I just watched the trailer for The Grudge 3. As much as I love the first two films, I had been extremely apprehensive about what I'd heard about this new film, especially the fact that Takako Fuji isn't playing Kayako any more (and Toshio's been re-cast, too, but that's a given - the little mite's already been portrayed by four different people, after all). One of the characters in the story, Naoko, also just screams "Mary Sue" to me. (Kayako's previously unmentioned sister who apparently knows how to stop the curse? Hmmm...)

However, the trailer has put my faith into the new woman playing Kayako. She looks similar to Takako under all that makeup, and it seems as though she is doing the distinctive style of movement justice.

And, who knows, maybe Naoko will turn out to be a better character than I initially thought. I'm not going to complain about her before I see just what she's like. Heck, I've already developed a theory that her way of "stopping the curse" may not involve a happy ending. I won't say what I think might happen, because it might end up being completely and utterly wrong. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if I'm even close with my speculations. :P

And, oh man. The end of the trailer. Kayako, do you always intend to look as though you're molesting your female victims? Honestly. XD Go back to fondling Karen already. Seriously, those movies are so femmeslash-friendly, it's not even funny. *off everyone's stares* Hey, at least two other people agree with me, damn it.

...I also kind of hope that this movie doesn't render the fics I'm working on AU. XD

Speaking of movies, earlier today me and Euan watched Premonition (aka Yogen) - not to be confused with the Sandra Bullock film of the same name, BTW. Totally different movie. :P

Anyway, I enjoyed it, although it wasn't as scary as I'd hoped. The trailer made it out to be freakier than it was. But, still, I thought it was pretty good.

Anyway. Food time now.

trailers, euan, fanfic, femmeslash, films, scary stuff, the grudge, my brain is on crack
