Okay, I need to vent.
Yesterday and today at the supermarket caused nothing but aggravation for me, and, even though I remembered my stress-relief pills today, they didn't seem to do much. I guess they just can't compete with the combination of supremely irritating customers and my unbearably annoying team leader. Today in particular was just one of those days. Even my lunch break was annoying. Ohhh boy.
The store was absolutely packed with one of my biggest pet hates: the sound of children screaming and wailing. They absolutely would not stop, and in most cases, their parents just let them get the hell on with it. Saturdays are usually bad enough for this, but today it was INSANE. I'm amazed I didn't come down with a violently pounding headache due to all the racket.
However, this one kid who came into the store wasn't screaming or crying, but he was being a complete brat. He must have been around 10 or 11, or thereabouts, but I couldn't believe how rude he was to one the ladies he was with - I'm guessing she was his grandmother. This lady was pushing the trolley, whilst another woman (the mother?) and an older man (the grandfather?) walked with her, and this boy was stomping around behind them.
Then, he ran at the older woman pushing the trolley, and, completely unprovoked, shouted at her "Stop pushing that! Stop bloody pushing it! You'll break it!" and then, I could be wrong, but it certainly sounded to me like he was making unpleasant remarks about the woman's weight.
And she, and the rest of the family, just stood there and took it! They didn't even try to tell him off. >_< What a horrible kid.
Later, a woman came in with her two young boys - one looked around 6-ish, the other seemed to be a bit older. Anyway, these two kids started fighting in the middle of the aisle. Their mother told them off, but she didn't seem that bothered. As she turned away to look at the shelves, one of the kids decided it would be a great idea to block the aisle by lying down in it, causing other customers to dodge and weave, whilst the other kid was jumping over his brother's legs repeatedly.
Then, their mother got a bit more annoyed with them, and told the oldest boy "Oh, take him off somewhere else and make sure he behaves".
Yes! Tell your two fighting, aisle-blocking kids to go off unsupervised! What a fantastic idea! I'm sure they'll behave! *facepalms*
Later on, one of my co-workers at the customer service desk gave me a piece of one of the makeup display, which showed the prices and special offers for that particular brand of makeup. Apparently, it had been ripped off by a customer who mistakenly thought that the prices were wrong. So, I had to push it really hard to actually get it to stick back, as the sticky stuff on the back was no longer... well, particularly sticky. >:( What's wrong with simply directing a member of staff to the display and indicating the prices, instead of ripping off a piece of the display to take to the desk?!
Oh, and much later in the evening, there were these two guys, one of whom decided to loudly talk about the last time he masturbated. In the middle of the aisle. At the top of his voice. To the bemusement of everyone else.
Thank you for sharing the epic tale of your wanking with the rest of the supermarket, in such a way that you were obviously trying to get people to look at you. You're so big and clever. */sarcasm*
And then there was my infuriating team leader, who, not content to nag at me whilst I was working, also decided to do so whilst I was on my evening break. WTF?! After the hectic lunch break I'd had (walking to the other side of the town centre, queuing up for ages to get some food, walking back to the store and then only having ten minutes in which to scoff half of it), I was expecting an evening break with very little interruptions. I most certainly did not want that woman to be one of them.
ARRRRRGGGGGHHHH.
Yesterday, as I said, was also aggravating, made especially so by an extremely smart-ass customer, but I don't really feel like going into that right now.
Some of my co-workers at my other job are continuing to piss me off, as well, but more about that some other time.
In other news, my sister started her first job today. :D Congrats to her!
Right, I'm hungry. :P
