I started playing Silent Hill (on Normal difficulty mode) again the other day. Then yesterday I had to restart, as I ended up in the Otherworld school and realised I'd forgotten to collect the lead pipe (all the while up to that point, I was going "Hey, don't I normally have the pipe by this point?"). In spite of the fact that it's, y'know, right in front of your face when you go back to the alleyway with Cheryl's sketchbook. *facepalms* Duh.
The graphics look pretty pixellated on my TV, though (I hadn't played it on that TV before then, y'see). XD I've got used to it, though, so whatever. If anything, it just makes it look kind of grainy, kind of like the optional noise effect you get in the later games. I still think it's a very atmospheric game, in spite of the now-dated graphics.
I've had to urge to play it again for days now. In fact, I am going to play through the whole series, each on Normal mode, and attempting to get the "best" endings for each. (Easy enough for the first game, slightly tricker for the later games.) Then, I'll start a save on SH: 0rigins. *nods*
In fact, I'll get back to it right now, before I go for a walk. :P
