Autumn's kicking in
Yesterday, I woke up feeling like absolute shit. I felt groggy, my head was pounding, and I felt a bit nauseous. Lynne almost sent me home, but I managed to stick it out and, after downing a painkiller, I felt loads better. :)
Mandie revealed that she's going to be leaving the job soon (she hasn't even been there that long, either!), as she's moving back to Canada (she grew up there) in January - which is a shame, as she's really funny and brightens up many boring shifts.
She showed us some of the houses she's considering looking into, and I am jealous. The house prices over there really show just how much we get ripped off in this country. >_< Me and Euan got lucky with this house, really.
I'm really annoyed with the supermarket - my staff discount card no longer works. It gives me the points, but doesn't give me the discount I'm entitled to. Today, I called the store to see if Moira, one of the managers, is in (as she's pretty much the only one who can sort out this issue), but nope. She's been away for ages, too. >_< I think the reason the card isn't working properly is because its registered under my maiden name and my married name is now on the system. Still, it's absolutely ridiculous that the store hasn't issued me a new card yet - it's their job to do that once a name change has occurred. Then again, the management is pretty fucking hopeless, so I really shouldn't be all that surprised.
