Overheard conversation at work today:
*Two customers are walking along, seemingly wondering where to find something - presumably a dairy product, based on what was later said*
Female customer: *says something along the lines of "Where would it be....?"*
Male customer: *points to the Bakery section* "Over there. Probably."
Female customer: *laughs in disbelief* "In the Bakery?! *in a 'don't-be-dumb' tone of voice* No way."
Male customer: "Bakery, dairy, it's the same thing!"
.......Uh, no. It really isn't the same thing. O_o;;
It really bugs me when some customers refuse to follow my directions properly. For example, today this woman came up to me, asking where she could find some hair accessories. Now, this is one of those frequent annoying questions I get all the time where I work. I don't blame it on the customers, though - seriously, one would expect to find hair accessories in the Health & Beauty section, right? However, that is no longer the case where I work. We have a few cheap hairbands in that section, but the majority of the better-quality products lurk almost near the other end of the store, on the end of one of the aisles facing the tills. A bit of an annoying detour to have to make, but, hey, I can't do anything about it. I wish that the management would signpost it, or something, though, because I get this question asked so often that I'm sick of it.
Anyway, upon being asked this question, I gave the woman the directions to the hair accessories. She must have been in some sort of hurry, because she ran off to find them. However, did she follow my directions? Nope. She looked on the end of one of the Health & Beauty aisles instead.
*Facepalm* Listen to what I say, customers! It'll help in the long run!
In other news, Eidos & Crystal Dynamics have taken over Core Design's remakes of Tomb Raiders I & II. >:( Great. How many more ways are they going to fuck the series up even more than they already have?! *Le sigh* I miss classic Lara.
Father's Day tomorrow. Joy. I only got my dad a card & a fridge magnet, he's so bloody difficult to buy presents for.
