Ten unpopular Fannish Opinions.
Bear in mind that I'm not sticking with any one particular fandom. This meme will consist of a bit of a mish-mash of several.
No offence is intended by what lies under the LJ-cut. They are simply my opinions. You can either agree or disagree, just as long as you don't stray into the mindless "I'm right and you're wrong!" territory.
1. Farscape: Yes, I support John/Aeryn. No, I dd not think that the entire show revolves around them and that the rest of the characters/pairings should be ignored. (Seriously, this is why I get so pissed off with the fandom from time to time, because it is infested with morons who don't care about anything but teh hawt luuuurve between two pretty people.)
2. Resident Evil (the games): On the other hand, I do not support Chris/Jill. This doesn't mean I hate the idea of them together, I'm just not overly fond of it. I don't see any romantic subtext between them, just friendship. Jill/Carlos on the other hand, I do support. Lord only knows if Jill feels that way or not, but, in my opinion, it seems that Carlos has feelings for her.
3. Tomb Raider (the games): I absolutely detest the new Lara. With the passion of a thousand burning hell fires. With TR: Legend, all they've done is effectively create a clone of the old Lara, only with a re-written, sucky-&-clichéd-as-hell backstory, a basically new personality, several years younger, and with very little modesty and class. (Come on, would the old Lara have worn this whilst adventuring? I highly doubt it.)
4. Silent Hill (the games): I do not find Pyramid Head to be sexually attractive.
5. Farscape: I like Jool. No, wait, scratch that, I love her.
6. Onimusha: Oh, come on. The voice-acting isn't that bad. Especially not in the third installment. As far as I'm concerned, the acting in the first game is naff, but could've been a lot worse, the second game's acting was decent enough, and I had very little problems with the third game's acting. As for the fourth game, I cannot say (since I haven't actually played it yet).
7. Soul Blade/Calibur: I do not like it when people pair Sophitia up with anyone. Sophitia is a married woman who is honest and caring with a pure soul. I highly, highly doubt that she'd leave Rothion and her two kids for Siegfried/Raphael/Taki/etc.. (I think the whole Sophitia/Siegfried thing was developed from the fact that they're both blondes - OMG, that obviously means that they're made for each other! *End sarcasm* AS for Raphael, he would not show the slightest bit of interest in her and would probably try to kill her without a second thought. As for Taki - yes, they teamed up to destroy Soul Edge. No, that does not mean that they want to have hot lesbian sex.)
8. Tomb Raider (the games): I love Angel of Darkness, in spite of its flaws.
9. Farscape: I love Season 4. I do not try to deny that any of it happened, and I hate, hate, hate the "Aeryn was replaced with a robot throughout the entire season!!" theory. It just boggles my mind. No, you may not have liked the way the character had been developed, but that doesn't automatically mean she's been replaced with a robot for most of the season. True, she was replaced with a Bioloid clone for the last few minutes of one episode, but that's all. Grrrrr.
10. Forbidden Siren: I do not find Yoriko to be as annoying as most other fans seem to find her (as evidenced by the fact that she's one of my favourite characters, next to Tamon). I do, however, find Naoko to be pretty annoying at times, even though most other fans don't find her to be annoying. XD
