London stuff gets

Arrived back in Yeovil from London yesterday, at around 8:30-ish. =)

Overview of the weekend:

On Saturday, we got on the coach at about 8:00 am, and arrived in London at about 11:00-ish.

We weren't meeting anyone until 1:00, and we couldn't get into our hotel room until 2:00, so, to pass the time, we wandered around Camden Town for a bit. Euan bought a new leather jacket after having £70 knocked off the original price (it went down from £160 to £90), and I practically fell in love with a coat that kind of reminded me of Raphael's first Soul Calibur III costume, but I decided not to get it because a) it was probably way too expensive, and b) I probably wouldn't find the time to wear it.

After this, we had to dash off (making a mental note to return later) to meet peoples at Waterloo Station. After this, we (eight of us) went to the pub in the station for food, drink, and the Amazing Chilli Challenge of '06. XD (For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, it involved vast amounts of Euan's extra-extra-extra-extra-hot chilli sauce, willing participants, and a camcorder. That's all I'm saying. O_o)

After a while, we then spent several minutes trying to find out where the bloody hell our hotel was located. Turned out that it was a 10 to 15-minute walk from Waterloo Station, so we all went and found it, dumped our stuff in our rooms, before heading out once again to do some shopping.

And so, much time was spent in Forbidden Planet (seriously, I think we must have spent an hour in there or something), various bookstores, various music stores, and various comic stores.

I was tempted to purchase several Asian movies (two of which being Koma and Shiri), but I despaired at how expensive they were and decided "Fuck this, I'll buy them online". *nods*

Instead, I bought:

- Heavy Metal, a fantasy magazine
- Two Doctor Who novels: The Clockwise Man by Justin Richards and The Monsters Inside by Stephen Cole
- Three cards decorated with fetish-y images, so I can frame them and put them on a wall
- Fresh Fruits book by Shoichi Aoki.

I also tried sushi for the first time when we all went to a Japanese takeaway restaurant, and I have since decided that it is quite simply gorgeous. I only tried one type (prawn), though. I'd definetely go there again, for t'was lovely.

Upon returning to the hotel, we ordered pizza, played games (Soul Calibur II, Dead Or Alive 3, and I think Timesplitters 2), and watched stuff (Puni Puni Poemi, Foamy and some other stuff that I didn't watch properly because I was either: a) in the shower or b) falling asleep because I was fecking knackered), before eventually crawling into bed at about 5:00 am.

On Sunday, we hung around in the Namco Arcade for a while, before most of our group decided to bugger off home. Then it was time for a meal in the Waterloo Station pub again. After this, Euan and I were the only ones left of the group, seeing as everyone else was now on their way home. So, we re-visited Camden again. During our time there, I bought:

- A black Chinese skirt
- Two T-shirts with "Booby Trap" and "Spot the Maniac" slogans/designs
- A bright pink/dark grey checkered beanie hat.

I was tempted towards some gorgeous corsets, but, alas, they all cost about £70, so...... nope. Far too expensive. I was also tempted towards a pair of Sai and blue metal nunchucks (to use for display purposes, mainly, seeing as I have little knowledge of martial arts skills), but I decided against it on the grounds that I have very little room in which to display them.

The coach trip back was long and somewhat boring, so I ended up falling into a restless sleep on Euan's shoulder (before eventually moving to his lap) for a short while. Yay.

So, yes, overall, I had a bloody good time, and I got a reasonably good haul out of the shopping trips. ^__^
