Yesterday: Had Euan over for most of the day, began a proper save on Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, had a severe laughing fit which lasted for ages. Ta-da.
Today: Work wasn't too bad, I suppose. Except for when I had to deal with a bloody rude guest in the morning. He came up to me whilst I was cleaning my first set of rooms, asking for a plastic cup because his room didn't have one. So, I politely gave him a spare cup. That I had no problem with. He wanted cup, he got cup.
But, after this, he expected me to service his room when he could bloody well see that I was busy cleaning the other rooms! Cheeky fucking git. I was not going to go out of my way to tend to his selfish needs when there were other rooms in more urgent need of polishing up. Plus, it is essential that all rooms are done in a certain order, so I was not going interrupt my duties in Room 49 to stick one little cup in the bathroom of Room 46. Put your own damn cup in the bathroom! You're going straight back in the room, so what's the bloody problem?
I also had to deal with another guest, although he wasn't quite as rude. He was just obscenely annoying. Oh well.
I was rather amused by one of the new girls, though. I think she only started working there today, and obviously she doesn't have a clue how to dress according to the health and safety regulations. She wore flared trousers with splits up to the knees, huge hoop earrings, and flip-flops.
Now, there's no problem with wearing those sorts of things if you're not working in a hotel. But if you are? Erm, sort it out, love. Wearing split flared trousers in this job is dangerous, as is wearing enormous hoop earrings and flip-flops. What if you trod on the bottoms of your trousers as you were going down the stairs whilst holding a tray of china? What if you dropped something heavy on your foot? What if you got your earrings caught on something and ended up ripping your ear to shreds?
I am, frankly, amazed that she didn't get lectured about it. In fact, when I saw her, I was reminded of one of my workmates from my previous housekeeping job - she insisted upon turning up to work in designer jeans, loads of gold jewellery and expensive-looking, high-heeled boots. Oh, and with her nails recently manicured. >< Okay, if you want to dress like that in your social life, fine, I have absolutely no problem with that. It's entirely your choice. But in a sodding housekeeping job?? You're there to clean grimy bathrooms and make beds, not look good. Eesh.
Ahem. Anyway...... toodles for now.
