So I got my pocket Moleskine Sketchbook in the mail yesterday, and gave sketching in it a try during lunch. I can see why there's a Moleskine cult out there---the paper surface is simply gorgeous.
The coffee house interior where I had my lunch, just minus the people and cutlery.
Watercolour test, but it didn't turn out well. While it accepts pencils and ink rather nicely, the drawing surface seems a bit waxy for water-based pigments. Am I doing something wrong or is this how it's supposed to turn out? Le sigh.
Ditto with gouache, though not quite as bad.
