AHH. You all over my fandoms, what are you doing and why haven't you been here all along/before?!

Though I am a diehard Magnus/Alec fan, I understand that they won't last forever, mostly because I don't think Magnus is that kind of long-term-monogamous-committment person. And if nothing else, I think Alec is - at least in terms of monogamous and committment and WANTING long-term because he always struck me as the craving-stability type whereas Jace and Isabel are on the other side of the spectrum most of the time.

That said...I rather like this. I like the idea that Clary and Jace's whirlwind thing doesn't last because perhaps they grow out of each other or Jace never grows up enough for her or they just are together so long that it's long ENOUGH and they each want something new. (Which I suppose is the same as growing out of each other.) And I kind of love the idea of this pairing, of a post-Magnus Alec and a post-Jace Clary being in their late twenties, perhaps, having tasted other things in-between their long-term relationship endings and what they have with each other now and THIS being what makes them happy. Alec still likes boys, but he also loves Clary. Clary has perhaps tried other things and decided that she likes the stability Alec offers - it's quiet embers instead of leaping flames, but maybe they're both at the points in their lives where that's more enticing.

The more I ruminate on it, the more I like it, is what I'm trying to say, I suppose. I never thought of them together before I read this and now I am on the verge of giving up BOTH my ships to adopt this one.
