RIP Madeleine L'Engle

I related to Meg Murry of A Wrinkle in Time more than I can possibly say.

My first day at work went well. I cannot cut fabric though. In a quiet period, they gave me a pair of scissors and metres of calico and told me to cut rectangles. Twenty minutes later:

AIMEE: Here, I have made you some rectangles.
SUPERVISOR: Uh...that's nice, dear.
AIMEE: I love how the scissors just veer off to the left when I try to cut in a straight line.

In further WTF from my part, I cannot use left handed scissors. Like, actually, they do not cut material when I use them. Friends, I am left handed. These scissors are made especially for me.

My crtical analysis is at the word count minimum. This is a good sign. I am too scared to re-read as I may have sat down on Thursday night and typed 1,200 words in two hours. I have typed 'light and darkness' so many times, I flinch whenever those words are mentioned.

Maybe I'll go email Rose. That'll be fun.
Love Aimee
