The tragedy of it all...
I just wanted to say thank you to all of the beautiful people on LJ (like my darling Thia) who have reached out to help the people along the Gulf Coast. As many of you may remember, I was born and raised in New Orleans and my entire family lives there. It's been a rough week... trying to get in touch with family members, not knowing if my friends and family are okay, but so far I have heard from almost everyone and they all seem to have made it out of harm's way.
I am trying to get time off of my two jobs and school to go home and help my family. As of now, most of them are homeless. They made it up to northern Louisiana and are at my uncle's house, but they have nothing to go back to.
Your help means a lot to the people down there so I encourage you all to donate if you can to organizations like the Red Cross. My home (New Orleans) will never be the same again, but there is a chance to help give the people there hope and help.
I also just want to say hello to Sandy and let her know that I am so thankful she made it out of harm's way. Love you, Angel!
