kansas.
sunflowers are my favorite, and they always make me feel better.
in the southwest part of kansas there is an adorable town called liberal,
and they have a farmhouse from the something like 1907. the town turned it into a little museum dedicated to the wizard of oz, and it is even completed with a statue of dorothy!!
i must say i really wanted to go, but ben said no. i got mad at him, because he didn't even slow down to let me get a picture of it.. i guess he really wanted to get home - whatever, i'll get over it.
however, he did let me stop to take some pictures of the sunflower farm in minneapolis, kansas. and i stole a tiny one. best souvenir ever!
all in all, great mini vacation. i loved seeing my mom get so excited over her party. she gave a speech that included her crying, as well as little old me. everyone chipped in for her present - lasik eye surgery. a cousin flew in from california for a surprise. my sisters and i clashed personalities as always, and my mom became the referee as she always is. a few hours before i left, i sat and jammed to some music with maren and natalie, and it was good times all around.
i got pulled over by a police officer who i have run into now 3 times since i was 16 years old. and i didn't even get a ticket. and he's never given me a ticket. but he told me next time he wouldn't give me any slack. and i said there wouldn't be a next time, so he high fived me and said see you in a few years. and that made my vacation fantastic.
