After weeks of false promises by the mysteriously inept weather people, we finally have snow!
I was just talking to my Mom yesterday and she said that it was 76 degrees in NC and she had gone to play tennis....while I was wearing 7 sweaters to walk the dogs (also wearing 7 sweaters) in 28 degree weather here. It has been remarkably sunny and clear during the freezing cold period we've had for the last 2 weeks or so, but I needed some snow to make it really seem like winter. I admit I still have that irrational excitement about snow which stems from years of living by the equation "any minuscule amount of SNOW=NO SCHOOL AND NO WORK, therefore SNOW=YAY!" in NC.
Rob is not happy about it, because people here don't know how to drive in snow...I just remind him that he should be thankful he isn't still living in Ottawa (I think they've had 4 miles of snow fall so far). Chloe doesn't know what to think about it all. She didn't want to come in after her walk because she was busy sticking her nose in that weird white stuff (the other dogs took an approximately half a second walk and were done...I couldn't even get them to be still for one picture). I think that huge mohair sweater I made Chloe makes her immune to the cold.
Awww first snow.
Chloe tries to make a break for it back out into the yard for some more important sniffing....
