The stockings are hung by the chimney with care...and Rob is still out shopping because he is insane.
When I was a kid, I would always make it a mission to find the hidden gifts in the attic. I'd secretly unwrap my gifts and wrap them back up well before Christmas. My Mom relayed this tidbit of information to Rob who now insists that every gift must be a surprise for some unknown reason. I'm still a chronic gift guesser/shaker, so he waits until the last minute to buy me stuff to foil my attempts at guessing. He actually threatened to take back a gift when I pointed out that it was obviously a calendar because of it's shape and size. Seriously, you can't help but notice that sort of thing.
Yesterday Rob lugged home a gigantic gingerbread house set at least 4 times bigger than the one we did
last year. That should keep us entertained tomorrow before we get to baking the butterball turkey and playing the traditional playstation 2 games.
I also got a nice present from Canadian immigration yesterday. I have apparently been approved to live here and there should only be 2 months or so of pointless waiting/mailing passport/landing at the border/waiting for permanent residence card left to go. It's not quite over yet, but the hard part is over with. Hooray! I also finally got my BC drivers license which was not nearly as complicated as getting one in the states (and also explains why so many people here can't drive well).
Right now I am contemplating this year's big Christmas pet photo. I usually get it done by now, but I no longer have my expert dog handler sidekick to help me wrangle these crazy dogs (while yelling STAY, NO NO BAD DOG, STAY and snapping, whistling, and adjusting costumes). I miss you LU! Until I get my 2004 family pet pic done sometime tomorrow, I'll leave you with a selection of my favs from the past few years. :)
