[ There is no fumbling as the communicator turns on. Whoever it is seems quite familiar with the technology used. ]

Looks like it's on..

[ There's the sound of someone clearing their throat. Then a male voice starts, low and clearly attempting to soothe whoever he's speaking to, but it's shaky and he sounds tired:]

H-hello. Um, my name is SSA Dr. ( Read more... )

You aren't the usual bumbling idiot we normally get. Sometimes it takes new arrivals weeks to get used to using the communicator.

So SSA Dr. Spencer Reid, welcome to Discedo. I can assure you this isn't Virginia nor is it Earth.

This, ah, communicator is actually very similar to electronics we have back home. Cell-phones, handheld video games, walky talkies.. It's not that hard to figure out if you know how to use one of those.

So I've been told. I'm still trying to..you know, wrap my head around the idea of being able to be taken to another world. I-I mean, scientists and physicists have been trying for years to perfect travel between worlds but we're not even close to anything like this. Especially taking people in large groups-- [ Cut him off if you like. :x If not, he won't shut up. ]

[She's willing to let him ramble for a little longer simply because it amuses her before she finally cuts him off.]

Travel between two worlds really isn't that difficult once you figure out the right equation for the connection of two points in space. I've been doing it for centuries, though the rest of the Universe has yet to keep up with my genius. They're still traveling by space ship.

As for our unfortunate relocation, there are several methods that can be employed for such a large scale group. What puzzles me is their selection method for various individuals.

[ It's longer then anyone else will give him. :|b ]

Yeah, it would be a lot easier to find out what kind of people our captors are if we could get a general idea of the types of people they've brought to this world. I--

E-excuse me, did - did you say space ship?

[Of all the things to question, he picks that? She can't help but laugh. humans really were entertaining.]

Yes, I did, You will find that not every citizen of this wonderful city is human.

As for the type of people that brought us here, they mostly keep to themselves. On the few occasions that they grace us with their presence, some sort of disaster usually follows.

[ He's a nerd, what do you expect? |D Also, his voice raises in pitch a little. ]

What - what exactly do you mean "not human"?

[Cute sound Reid. You made her laugh. As soon as her laughter dies down she flips on the video. At least she looks like an adult right now. She gives a little wave and smirks.]

In the universe there are several types of humanoids. Sometimes the difference may only be a few changed genetic markers which may give one an unusual hair color, or cat like features. Sometimes times its not so obvious. The markers for cell reproduction may be different, changing the life span of a person. None of these things would be obvious with just a glance, so is it really hard to believe that there are non-humans here? Human only denotes that you were born on earth and share 96% of your genetic markers with chimpanzees.

[ He doesn't even blink at the hair. Once you've know Garcia, someone could walk by with neon rainbow hair and it wouldn't seem out of place. ]

Actually, human DNA differs from that of a primate only by 2%.

..Are you a scientist, ma'am?

Does it? That's interesting to note. Of course, I haven't really looked closely at the human genome. I see no point to unless the origin of hybrid is in question.

[She just smirks a little at his question. Though she notes he doesn't care about her hair color.]

You can say that. I am Little Washu, the greatest scientific genius of my universe. It's a pleasure to meet you Dr.Reid.

Now the question remains, What are you a doctor of?

[ She just keeps saying odd things. :x ] Origin of hybrid?

Nice to meet you too, Ms. Washu. ..The greatest?

--Oh. Well, uh, I have three doctorates in Mathematics, Chemistry and Engineering. I also hold undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology and I'm working on another degree in Philosophy.

[Oh he got her interests alright.]

Please, call me Little Washu and yes, the Greatest.

That is quite the interesting selection of doctorates and degrees. I myself, hold doctorates in physics, astrophysics, genetics,chemestry,engineering... Lets just say my scientific knowledge is well rounded. I've had plenty of time to devote to my studies over the course of my lifetime.

Really? what college did you attend?

I attended the Universal Science Academy of Jurai for quite a few years and even became a professor at one point and even the president of the university.

Of course, that was a long time ago. Now I do my own independent work.

Yes, Jurai.

Juraian culture is rather fascinating. They are the only intergalactic empire to use living space ships grown by trees and subsequently forming a bond with said trees. Of course, this gives their military fleet a slight advantage over their opponents.
