So for the past n months I have completely failed at utilising LJ in any meaningful way.

Okay, that's not fair. I've used it for limited communications and occasional poking-my-head-up in a "here I am, world, I am still alive" sort of way, or in the travel/sleeping arrangement sort of way.

1. Jessie is affectionate, not evil.
2. If wish to speak unto the Bob, I will send him an IM, call him on the phone, wait until pryactice, or possibly send him an email. He doth check LJ too infrequently to consider it a viable communications medium.

Actually, commenting in my journal is an excellent way to get hold of me if Gmail is up and I have web access, since all comments are instantly e-mailed to me.

Maybe so, but I have enough alternate means of contacting you, at least one of which carries the potential of interrupting at an embarassing moment, that doing so through LJ is unlikely to occur to me.

Clarification: However, a post in your LiveJournal may not be read in a timely manner.

By which I mean "for months". But if you send me a link in an IM, I'll read it within 24 hours if I'm home.
