Ghosties and goolies and lang leggedie beasties...

Last night was brilliant. Met up with many 82ASK peoples at Deacon Brodies and had a hideously expensive beer before going on a ghost walk. We went on one of the Mercat Tours walks which involved 5-6 outdoor stories at various location taking an hour, and half an hour in the South Bridge vaults with another 2-3 stories and the history of the vaults. There was a minimum of touristy cheese, and the tour didn't rely on assistants jumping out at people in fancy dress which the other tours nearby were using. No ghosts seen, but after the guide's deadly serious warning about letting him know of any odd things happening I was oddly relieved. Highlight of the tour was actually completely unrelated, and came in the form of a bloke casually walking along wearing a full rubber demon mask putting a 'see you jimmy hat' on.
After the tour we had dinner at Barioja on Jeffrey St, a really good tapas place which I loved despite not really liking tapas. I actually liked their calamari which is something of a pleasant surprise. It was really great seeing everyone, and I was reminded of how much I miss my old job and the people involved. It felt like a shame that there is no way I could go back to working alone from home, but at least I know that at the odd gatherings I will always see some friendly faces and feel welcome. The only stress of the evening, the part where we had to spend lots of money, was nicely eradicated by it being on 82ASK.
Today was begun with pretty much no hangover which is nice when I tot up exactly what I had to drink. Quiet evening with the TV and a bath tonight me thinks, then a fairly uneventful weekend on the cards - dinner with A&R tomorrow night and eye tests on Saturday and absolutely bugger all else.
