I seem to have a thing for posting on Thursday lately.
Just put in my "Now Playing." Is Black Moth Super Rainbow a great band name or what? It makes me want to restart Rock Band so I can steal it. :D So far my best band name is Calico Bondage Geese.
Anyway, I'm up, dressed, medicated, fed, and actually feeling energetic and cheerful for the first time since this weekend.
This weekend... Oy. Friday, out the door later than wanted, didn't get to Kathy's new place until well after midnight, and then we find she has no electricity, so we hang out a lot longer than we would have otherwise. We get to Adam's parents' house late late, and I don't get to sleep until 3:30 AM or so. I then get up again at 7:30 to get on the road by 8:15 to drive to Farmington (from Lee, 137 miles, 2 hours and 40 minutes according to Google Maps). I was late to Kate's graduation, but got there before the presenting of the diplomas. Then I go help Kate move the last of her stuff out of her room and we go explore Farmington and I take everyone out for an absolutely heavenly dinner (The Homestead restaurant in Farmington strongly recommended!) and then we go to the parking lot to transfer some stuff from my car to Mom's and we set off the car alarm. Kate & Mom head out, and then I find out that I can't start the car because of said car alarm. It was around seven when Mom & Kate left and I was beginning to feel tired despite all the coffee I'd been drinking. Adam figured out how to get things working again around 9:15, so I bought more coffee and hit the road. By the time I made it to Orono, I had the heater down to full blast cold, the car stereo louder than I'd ever had it, and I was driving ten to fifteen miles under the speed limit. Also, it was bucketing down rain, and I couldn't see the damn lines on the road. Driving those last twenty or thirty miles was the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life. I made it to Kathy's in one piece, and vaguely remember telling her best friend what a wonderful person he is for helping Kathy so much, and then it's all a blur until morning. I woke up at 7:30, took Kathy out to breakfast and around to do some shopping and then headed back to Lee. Adam did all the driving on the way home. Monday I did pretty much nothing but sleep. Tuesday I did pretty much nothing but sleep. Yesterday I started catching up on dishes and laundry and did some serious swamping out of the laundry room.
And now we're up to today. I have three or four importnat things to do today, to wit:
- Finish sorting the cables all over the dining room table and put them away
- Make a dryer run and then put all the laundry away
- Deal with all the crap I pulled out of the laundry room (most of which will be tossed)
- Beat the middle floor back into submission
I know I can get the cables and the laundry dealt with, and I'll see how far I can get with the rest. I will go deal with cables and dishes as soon as I am done posting this.
Oh, and Nissie lives with Kathy now. She seems to like it.
