I last posted on 22nd November. It's 22nd December. I'm really not doing very well at this, am I?
I've just finished my first term at uni in Edinburgh, and I'm really enjoying the course so far, and living in a city. I had 3 subjects this term, two exams last week (the 3rd subject runs the whole year, so we get that exam in May). To pass in 1st year you need an overall 40%, so I'm fairly confident that everything is fine, but there's still that 'what if?' feeling niggling at me - apparently results will come out in January, which still feels a long way away at the moment. The exams were for Greece in the Making then Medieval Scottish history. Next term I'm doing greek history 1B, which follows on from the other course, and celtic civilisations, which I think is going to be very similar to the medieval history one, but hopefully without so much emphasis on who was king when.
We had beautiful snow in Edinburgh for ages - I didn't have to go anywhere except on foot, so it was actually really nice. Got home safely too, and it snowed Friday night/Saturday, then stayed really cold, so there's still crunchy white stuff on the ground, but it's not quite snow. The downside to this is that mum's car has to stay at the bottom of the track, so it's a 10 minute walk before you can go anywhere. No frozen pipes so far though, which I'm very grateful for.
It's just so nice to be home! The Christmas tree is up, decorations, strings of cards hung up around the living room, fire on... it's so nice and Christmassy! I love this time of year, just sitting watching films with the family, it's very togethery.
I'm really going to try and post more often now. It's one of my new year's resolutions - I want to post at least once a week, ideally twice. I'll see how it goes.
