She watched him from the garden bench, holding Brigid's hand as she hovered about two feet above the ground and babbled at him, while he kept one eye on Angus. She had to go for a few hours to work while he took care of the children and when she got back, she didn't want to disturb him. He looked like he was having so much fun.
Every time she saw him, her love grew just a little bit more. It was funny, but just seeing him like this made everything perfect. He loved their children and didn't mind spending the time needed with them. Waking up with them in the middle of the night to help feed them when they both cried. Changing them and most of all, playing with them.
He was her greatest strength. She hadn't been whole until he'd come into her life. She was a much stronger person now that he was there. Now that she had a family. She'd thought she was strong before, but it had changed with him.
Laughing, she watched Smith turn his back to Angus; following Brigid; and their little butterfly started crawling off. He'd probably seen a bug again that he wanted to check out. Standing up, she walked across the garden and scooped him up, before going over and giving Smith a kiss. It was good to be home.
