Shrinking flower
The Mediterranean region is causing particular concern, with more than half its freshwater fish on the Red List.
Urbanisation, mass tourism and intensive agriculture are creating major problems for its plants too, including the pallid squill (Scilla morrisii), of which only about 600 remain.
