Hey Livejournal world...
My apologies for lack of updating. I feel like I've been here for two months instead of two weeks, not that that's a bad thing because I'm so absolutely happy to be back with the people that I love so much! It's crazy how much has happened in the last two weeks here, especially considering that frosh week has only been the past week. Since returning has been in some kind of time warp. "I haven't seen you in forever" really means "i haven't seen you in the past day". And discussions of how people have "changed" are based on two one-hour discussions. You can also become extremely close to someone and find a "best friend" or boyfriend at that time. Seeing my frosh pair up and recounting my own experiences reminds me of the september time warp. From here on out time starts speeding exponentially.
Anyways, tomorrow class starts and for once in my life, I'm looking forward to the begining of actual classes. My curfew is lifted and all the residents and random guys that end up on my floor will (hopefully) be too occupied to cause trouble. Although I complained about the 10:00 thing it wasn't so bad. A lot of people who wanted a night or some hours to relax came to chill and I was able to spend quality time with them as well as getting to know the other Elmsley dons.
I'll toss in an entertaining story that most know. As many are aware, i can be absent-minded and rather awkward, leading to goof-ups that are entertaining for all but those directly involved. So I was put in charge of helping the residence council organize volleyball. The rule was that teams provide a line judge for the game before yours. As a don and being in charge of the event, i felt bad asking anyone else to do it and did it myself. So 10am Saturday while i'm line judging, the ball rolls under one of the chains that is used to fence off orientation field. At the lowest it's about 2, maybe 3 feet off the ground. As I'm running to get it I decided it would be a good idea to just jump over it. In my mind I thought to myself "it would really suck if i tripped and fell with everyone watching me". And then WHAM. I dropped my leg too soon and landed smack on the hard pavement. On my stomach. Holding my keys and cell phone. My first reaction was that the sooner I stood up, the less of a big deal it would be. Standing up so fast probably wasn't a good idea because everything kind of went black and their was a weird wooshing sound in my eat, but i kinda crawled myself up, checked to see in my cell phone was functional, threw the stupid ball back and hobbled back to line judging. My ribs also hurt the rest of the day. I know, i'm smooth....
