HAPPY NEW YEAR!~

Jan 01, 2010 01:04

It's been 50 minutes past 2010 at the moment. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Watched the 60th Kouhaku Uta Gassen on teevee earlier. Awesome, festive show, as usual. Makes me realise that there is indeed a cultural significance in Japan when the New Year arrives. As compared to Singapore, New Years are just times for parties. To get drunk, to dance the night away. Seems rather 'meaning'-less. Somehow.

Anyway, the NYC boys' performance at Kouhaku like kinda pissed me off. Apart from the millions of other Jrs that were prancing away in the background, the NYC boys themselves were a disappointment. Granted, they were dancing way better and more precisely than the backup Jrs. BUT the thought of having them perform on the same stage with legendary Japanese musicians and Japan's biggest stars..... Personally, I felt that it was an insult to other performers. Don't get me wrong, I AM a through and through JE fan. But, having them there was embarrassing. Others worked really hard and carried great achievements on their shoulders to be invited. But the NYC boys? I don't know. (Totally NOT saying that they did not work hard. I think their hard work totally showed in their performance just now. Kudos for that.)

Fangirls might kill me for this. But I'm just being honest here. Sorry if there are any offence taken. Really sorry! On the other hand, I found the Snow Prince performance to be quite sweet actually. Hehe.

And of course, Arashi's performance was almost epic. It would be epic if it was them for 4 whole hours.
They were so kira kira. 8D And they looked really happy too! Awesome performance. So glad I recorded it just so I can keep on rewatching it. XD

That totally made my day.
Now, I shall patiently wait for JE countdown videos. Heard that it's very Arashi-centric. lalalala. XD

Once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!~

The year I have been waiting for, 2010, is finally here. (:
