I was just getting up and it bent and snapped off. It's a cheap-looking uncomfortable chair with tiny metal legs that have a slight curve to the back ones. :(

I don't think so, but you should really inform the office asap. I'm sure they will just replace it like they did my bed, as it's the faulty shitty furniture, not our fault.
