A costume...
Once again I am planning a costume.
The theme is "dark souls" and I already have an idea of how I want to go... some kind of bad fairy/fallen angel type thing.
If I were to be a bad fairy, I already have elbow-length black leather mittens, and a black underbust corset that gives such a lovely hourglass shape when laced the right way. What I would envisage is a skirt of shredded black chiffon and possibly black satin ribbon. Hair insane (curled, teased, small braids in places, generally a mess) and dark makeup for sure. The part I'm not sure about would be wings. Now, I can do something complicated and Froudish with wire and irridescent cellophane (if I can find some) or I could stitch shredded black chiffon onto a very basic wire frame. As for the top part not covered by corset, I have a nice black lace bra which I would cover to a point with black chiffon, probably just two wide strips over the shoulders and tucked into the corset/skirt at both ends.
The fallen angel would be white. Obviously white wings, though it might make more sense to make the wings myself, and have them, rather, as bloodied stumps. The dress would be something basic in white cotton, tattered and dirtied. If I was to have the wing-stubs instead of full wings, then I would also have to work out some way of having bloodstains at the back of the dress also.
