The Waters of Mars

I just watched this on DVD, and while doing it I was reduced to a blubbering mess.

It ties into my own love of all that is space and dreams I've had. Last month when I discovered that President Obama had decreed that NASA's space shuttle program would be over at the end of this year, I was emotional and heartbroken. I was going to write up a rant, but hadn't.

Then two weeks ago when discussing my love of sci-fi literature, particular the Dragonriders of Pern series, with a friend, I came to the realization that I escape to the stars in books because I'll never be able to do it in life. This, too, made me unhappy, but it helped me understand myself more.

But back to Who (though I may take the time to write that eloquent post I haven't written yet), it was a very good episode. Nothing bad to say about it at all. Here's a good quote:

"Oh, that's the Adelaide Brooke I always wanted to meet, the woman with starlight in her soul."
―The Doctor

I think I'll have to use that epithet from now on. The woman with starlight in her soul...
