Ooh yeah, season 0 stuff. Protective!Yami even though he doesn't really know who Yugi is yet = love. ^_^

I just have a little thing to comment on that I hope qualifies as 'con crit' (or at least a branch of con crit, haha). When I read the summary, it didn't matter much, but when it was in context, it seemed a bit out of place. The use of 'would' gave me the impression that it was Yami who hurt Yugi. If you replace 'would' with 'could' (i.e. "And this person thought he could injure that source? Thought he could injure Yugi?") then it sounds more like Ushio who's doing the damage. It adds to the ambiguity as well since this is written in third person, and 'he' could mean either Ushio or Yami. :3

...plus it also puts a bit more emphasis on Yami's protectiveness over his other soul. xD

But anyway, I love this serious piece. ♥

(I think it qualifies. You're trying to help improve the story, that's con crit. *nodnod*) Hmmn...yeah, I think you're right. "Could" does sound better. It insinuates Ushio has/doesn't have the ability - or permission - to hurt Yugi, which would fit a lot better with the overly-protective theme I was going for. Actually, for some reason I thought I HAD used 'could.' xD I'll fix that later, I'm too lazy to log out and back in right now, but thanks for pointing it out~

YUM! Protective!Yami is always fun to read about! Damn right you better protect your source of light, he's yummy. ;D Plus we all know Yugi belongs to him anyway. -giggles-

It's too bad Ushio from new series is voiced by Dan Green, even when Ushio was Yugi serious bully when the manga started...just funny to think about it~

Hooray for protective Yami. Love the mind crush! Good post for the day that a new chapter starts in Yu-gi-oh. By the way, that feeling that Yami has - it's the same feeling that mother's have about their children. Protective, love, and ready to hurt/kill anyone that hurts them.
