[art] Sketches and doodles from 10th and 11th grade
These are a bunch of black-and-white, (pencil) sketches and doodles I did in 10th and 11th grade. (2004-2005, and 2005-2006 respectively.) Pics include lots of Puzzleshipping, one Darkshipping, and some characters of my own. ^^ LOTS of pictures under the cut, not dial-up friendly.

10th grade- a pic based on a Puzzleshippy fic I wrote called, (surprise surprise), Drive to the Edge of the World. Yami and Yugi kill themselves in a car crash because Yugi's parents are trying to force them apart. There's a poem that goes with it that I wrote too. Oddly enough, I generally hate suicide fics, so go figure why I ever wrote that. I was a n00b back then. xD
10th grade- you know, I still really like this one. The only issue I have with it is god Yami's hair looks WEIRD. xD And his hand is vanishing into an invisible pocket. Otherwise though...I actually like this. The chain took me like two days in class to finish.
10th grade- This is my Dark-Muse, Shadow, (also known as Shad.) She insisted I draw her looking "cool." Unfortunately I don't have any sketches of Nikky to post along with it. Shad is a Yami fangirl. Hence the similar outfit.
10th grade- a very smudged pic of Shane. He's my OC, he's Jou and Mai's son, based on the English names. I also have an OC for Yugi and Anzu's daughter (her name is Sorcha Astrea), but I don't have a sketch of her. Mainly because I'm more attached to Shane. And he's more fun to draw. Those two are from two fanfics I wrote many years ago, Under the Cover of Light and Beyond the Cover of Darkness. There was going to be a third to complete the set...but I lost interest in writing it. Plus those fics are terribly written. ^^;;
10th grade- I darkened this to try to make it easier to read, but it still didn't work. So here's the text:

Jou: Hey Kaiba, did you know that constantly repeating a behaviour and expecting a different result is a sign of insanity?
Kaiba: (thinking: Why are you talking to me?)
Second panel
Yugi: You know Joey, that's funny, 'cause Kaiba is constantly dueling me and he always loses, but he always thinks he'll win.
Shoulder-angel Yami: *nod*
Kaiba: (thinking: Dude, when did Yugi get so tall?!) (making fun of myself for screwing up the heights. xD)
Jou: *snick(er)*

*silence while they all think*
Fourth panel:
Jou: ...Well, that would explain a lot!
Kaiba: *gloom* (thinking: Yugi's tall and Joey's insulting me. Nothing makes sense anymore!)
Yugi: *snicker*

...I really hate Kaiba. So I like to make fun of him. xDD I realize everyone is OOC.
10th grade: Picture based on my half-good, half-n00bish Darkshipping fic The Purpose of a Heart. The scene takes place after one of the bad guys has kidnapped and poisoned Yami. Bakura fought and shot/killed the bad guy, but then while carrying Yami to safety has a mental break-down over how his messed-up life has put Yami in danger. Hence the title of this was "Regret." Yami's head isn't realistically limp...but I'm kinda proud of the rest of the picture.
10th grade: Pretty straight-forward. Just wanted to draw Yami in a really detailed outfit to get practice.
10th grade: Should be readable, but just in case (it is sort of fuzzy):

Yami: I need to think of something special to get Aibou for Christmas. Any ideas?
Jou: Something special, ne?

Yami: I am your personal slave, Aibou-sama!

10th grade- Yugi's thought bubble is supposed to be him glomping Jou for giving Yami the idea. xD;
This was an extaordinarily quick drawing...some of the details I cringe at now, (I sucked at drawing people from the side at that point, clearly...) but overall this one still amuses me. I may re-draw it at some point.
And the last of the 10th grade pictures...this had another two parts to it where you saw Jou sneaking in, getting a box of stuff to decorate the room with, and waiting for Yugi to wake up. But this is the part that's actually amusing. xD Needless to say, Yugi is not so happy with Jou this time. ^^; Yami's supposed to be a ghost-y spirit appearing out of the Puzzle.
C'mon, you know at some point you've wanted to put little pointy hats on each of Yugi's hair spikes...
Drawing the bed was hard. It looks...wrong. But then again, perspective is hard in general. >.<
11th grade: picture for White Day. ^^ Yugi gets up the courage to give Yami a present, only to discover that Yami got him a present too.

11th grade- Doodle of either Yami without a hair spike or a grown-up Yugi. (I meant for it to be Yami...but grown-up Yugi could work.) I was trying to practice drawing people from the back, since I never really tried to. Part of a large page of doodles, but this was the only decent one. xD The lyrics are from the Lifehouse song, Blind. Angsty picture is angsty.

strawberrykaoruposted a Yugi-at-Atemu's-grave pic awhile back and asked me to post mine. So here 'tis. The text "even if a thousand years pass, we'll all be friends forever" comes from chapter 343 of the manga. The necklace is supposed to be a second cartouche that Yugi had made with Atemu's name after Atemu leaves.
I realize the cross is technically Christian, but I was basing this roughly on a scene from Rave Master, and while the series is definitely anti-Christian, Gale's grave was still marked with a cross, so I figured it would do. Plus I didn't know where he'd hang the necklace if it was a square marker, (I did do a version with a square marker in 9th grade...but by gods I swear that picture will never be seen by anybody but me. It's terrible. xD)
11th grade- Drawn for Gina. The text is some cheesy stuff I made up myself. General idea is that although Yugi has a blanket and hot cocoa, it's Yami that provides true warmth in Yugi's life. And yes, it's snowing outside. ^^;
11th grade- Shane again, and his little brother who must remain nameless. ^^; (He does have a name though. Just I promised not to reveal it to anyone unless I told Marie first. And I haven't told her it yet.) Shane's little brother was going to be introduced in the third fic that was never written.
11th grade- I'm not very happy with this one. They look too stiff. However I was again trying to practice drawing people from behind, while being hugged, etc. Yugi is abnormally short. And Yami's head is too big. All in all, not a picture I'm really happy with. The lyrics are from the Nickelback song Far Away.
11th grade- drawn for Gina. She wanted Yugi in an role-playing-scantily-clad-bondage outfit. He's saying "any volunteers" because he's supposed to be looking for another hand to share the cuff. Yami volunteers. xD If he doesn't die from bloodloss after his nosebleed first. Which actually looks more like a mustache. ^^;;
11th grade- This is my character, Aku. He recently got a new hairstyle, new eyes, and a new main outfit, but this was the original design for him.
11th grade- And this is Kyuu, another of my characters. You might notice he's wearing the same type of guns that Bakura is wearing in the The Purpose of a Heart fanart. His eyes have changed slightly, but for the most part he still looks very similar to this original design.
Yes, eventually Aku and Kyuu end up as a couple. As if nobody could see that coming. xD
