Bits and Bobs.
I THINK I MIGHT BUY AN ASUS EEE PC. omg folks, it is so tiny and white and Brilliant. It makes me go off in dream tangents about a different sort of computer world where everywhere has fast computers with no storage and people just carry their data about on sticks and drives.
I touched one at wiscon! It was wonderful.
I think it would be perfect for traveling with. I'll just have to get a Irish power cord and and a larger battery and BAMF. Connectivity at a kilo! Also if I cannot adjust to the keyboard I'll just have reason to get one of those one handed keyboards I've always sekritly dreamed of.

PS Neutral Milk Hotel is ten kinds of amazing. It is the same kind of awesome as The Mountain Goats, the sort of stripped down to the soul sound and intensely poetic lyrics. And the sound is strangely similar to The Decemberists circa Castaways and Cutouts, more in the orchestral ambiance than vocal quality.
Also today at work there was a tornado warning siren (right at shift change at 3 too, which makes it better as there was the maximum number of employees there) so we had to herd everyone (customers too) into the back room for like 30 seconds while the siren went off. But then they stopped, so obviously the danger had passed and we went back to doin' our thing. It was fantastic. Also immediately following the event basically every customer hastily checked out.
And then I went home and my plans of lying in the sun and reading were foiled by the TORNADOS and MASSIVE THUNDERSTORMS. Boo.
