Won't Dubya ever learn?
In 1990 and 1991 US had a war with Iraq.
During this time US troops are stationed near Mecca. This outrages many hard-line Muslims, among these is Saudi-born Osama Bin Laden. 15 of the 19 hijackers that were involved with 9/11 were Saudi.
Osama plays on this apparent desecration to recruit other hard-line Muslims who feel the same way, and attacks US interests, bases, ships and embassies. He attacks the WTC.
Now, 12 years later Dubya wants to attack Iraq. He would like to use Saudi Arabia as a friendly base again.
It seems that no matter what Iraq will be attacked.
Dubya may just be causing more problems for America by repeating the same mistakes again. Using Saudi Arabia as a base may end up creating another Osama, or enhancing the Taliban reputation and prolonging the war against terrorism.
