In terms of the PC, I already feel like shit I could not give you mass cash for what you have done.. why would I invite you over to do more work that I could not pay for....?

Because of my first rule of computer work: Friends. Don't. Pay.
It is not a rule that will make me rich, but it's one that gives me warm fuzzies knowing I can do something good for my friends in return the good they do for me, regardless of how aware they are of all they do for me. It's a rule that lets me sleep at night.
Look at it another way: I paid nothing for the parts, my only cost was my time. That isn't a cost since it serves two of my own selfish purposes: (1) It hopefully gets you online and (2) finds a good home for a decent machine. If it sits there, unused, that defeats my selfish purposes and bothers me.
Now if you win the lottery, write a bestselling novel, or in any other way make it big, I expect some serious payola (and an order for a much better machine). Until then, you don't need to pay me a dime. I have a job, a better paying one than I had 6 months ago, I'm not broke, and I like building and fixing machines. For fun ( ... )

Q: What's the difference between an Irish Wedding and an Irish Funeral?
A: One less person drinking.
Seriously though, every year at Christmastime, we drive out to the cemetery, place wreaths at my family's graves, and open up a bottle or two to share with eachother and them. My grandfather gets some, my Great-Uncle Bob somewhat less (he had enough when he was alive), my Great-Aunt Mary a little more than him (she put up with being married to Uncle Bob all those years), and a some for the rest of my family; my Great-Grandparents, their children (minus my Grandmother, thank God), and other extended members of my family.
This year is going to be hard, we're going to have to start making an extra trip for my Uncle Mike.
