So Jason and I decided to try for an Indiana Jones theme for this year, him as Indy, which should be fairly simple assuming I can find the hat, and me as Marion Ravenwood in her ridiculous white dress... http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTMyNzA4MDA0Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwNjEwNTA3._V1._SX485_SY325_.jpg

I have had no luck finding any dress like it ( Read more... )

I love that you are doing a couples theme. I thought I would be also, but now I think I will end up either wearing a toga or wearing some sort of SWAT gear with ridiculously sexy lingerie underneath that. Just for fun you know.

if you want, I have this really cool toga thing you could borrow. Here's a pic.

So PRETTY! But... I don't think it would fit me! You are petite my dear, and I am.... not. But I <3 you for asking.

Umm, it is quite stretchy, and too long on me... and it is also fairly loose on me, I'll bring it to our spa day and you can try it :)

The official Indiana Jones hats have been re-released because they were redesigned by a new hatter for the most recent film. They'll be $40 or 50 probably; not bad for a nice hat, when you think about it. The older style (from the earlier films) may still be available, probably secondhand, some places too. My dad has had one for about 20 years. I'd try eBay for both versions.

I am hoping to find a used one around town... that way it will have a bit more wear ^^

Pardon me for asking, but doesn't your lovely wife do costuming? The pattern seems simple, should only take a few hours, and I'd shop for the fabric on my own... I wouldn't want to impose, with her carrying your child and leading a busy life, but no harm in asking right? :) Or maybe one of you know someone who might be willing? What with all of your connections in the historical reenactment groups.. ^^

And since it was your anniversary recently, I don't even want to know whether or not you need help finding the whip.... ;)

I will check through my patterns that my grandma left me too to see if I have something that fits more to the time. The patterns she had in her sewing go all the way back to the 60's so there might be a better pattern in there without needed to add extra's so I will look and then the pattern will be free...woohoo...I wish I could say I have time this month but I just can not make those promises at all. Beth is usually good for it too but she is away for most of the month at a comic convention as it so happens. Have you also went and checked out value village, all she is wearing is a good old late 80's early 90's wedding dress and you can often find them at used clothing stores and then look at just altering...I mean the dresses are really well made and sturdy..just used some years ago and often as inexpensive as about $10 to $30.

I want to check valu villages... it's just a matter of looking up the locations and getting myself there ^^ Let me know if you find a pattern though ^^ *hugs*

I'm back from the honeymoon and could use the extra cash if you want me to help you with the costume. If you don't want me to make it from scratch, I can help you find something anyway at value village or something :-)

As long as you don't feel like it would be too much work too soon after the stresses of wedding and travel, I would totally apprieciet either! We can try valu village first, cuz who doesn't love fishing through for cool stuff, and then if we have no luck on the costume front we can go for building the costume ^^ In the latter case I will certainly compensate you to put some more money in your pockets :D

No problem, sounds like fun! I wish I'd known you were looking for an indiana jones hat, I was just in disneyworld where they sell them! :-( I'll probably see you tonight for Centergy, as long as my cough doesn't get worse or I don't feel too exhausted.
