"Boy Next Door" by Sister Hazel

Have you heard about me, said a word about me?
I'm the boy next door- yeah, well
Do you think about me, or even dream about me?
I bet I do more about you
'Cause you don't know my name
So you can't feel my pain, 'cause

I don't need to be your superhero
But I don't wanna be the boy next door, either
I just wanna be more than zero
'Cause I need something more--
Yes, I deserve much more

Have you ever seen me, or felt the air between me
And you as you pass me by, by
Will you ever turn and, see that I've been learnin'
Anything that might help me talk to you
But you don't know my name,
You can't feel my pain, 'cause

I don't need to be your superhero
But I don't wanna be the boy next door, either
I just wanna be more than zero
'Cause I need something more--
Yes, I deserve much more

I might be the only self-destructive superhero,
'Cause I can fly, but I don't know quite how to land
Without a crash, without a crash

Will you ever touch me, or stop and laugh to crush me
You've seen me before-- did you notice me?
From the window railing, it's easier than failing
I can't take much more, 'cause

I don't need to be your superhero
But I don't wanna be the boy next door, either
I just wanna be more than zero,
'Cause I want something more--
Yes, I deserve much more

I don't need to be your superhero,
But I don't wanna be the boy next door, either
I just want to be more than zero,
I want something more,
Yes I deserve much more...

... mrf.
So I think I like, let's say, Person A.
Person A has talked to me deliberately once, and I believe I have an e-mail from them somewhere that I never replied to.
I feel weird bringing it up, because it's like, dude, what does it say about me that I remember one compliment from, like, a month and a half ago?

Dammit, self-esteem.
