Election drinking game rules (draft)

Thinking about election night drinking game rules, after it was suggested that "Everytime a result's announced" might not work for the long, long night it's going to be ( Read more... )

Many of these can be reduced to 'when an incumbent retains their seat', which might be safer. There's 149 not standing for reelection, plus four new constituencies, and I think another three (four?) that are otherwise recused, so that makes things a bit more approachable.

So how about - "an incumbent retains their seat" and "someone we've heard of loses their seat". It means those of us with political knowledge are more likely to lose it, evening the playing field...

I guess in total we're probably looking at an incumbency retention rate of about 55-65% overall, so about 350-400 seats so that might work.
