flew into sf, nothing totally surprising or anything. it was my first time traveling alone so i suppose you could take note of that. i got to the commodore long after check in, saw some familiar faces including Austin's. he's moved out of the other apartment because Kao stole from him. i arrived in my room fearful of what might be, i guessed she was Asian based on the pech'e japanese cigarettes by the window and began setting up, frantic and scared i'd have another Andria. my room is a hotel room, two full beds a tv cabinet with standard hotel tv in it and bathroom and closet just like the one in every hotel room you've ever stayed in (with i might add the hotel wall hairdryer still here). she entered the room and muttered something under her breath in what could've been any language and it sounded like disaster awaiting me. i bleated out a sheepish "hii" and was greeted by a medium tall Korean. her name is Heiwo, this is her third week ever in america, she was born in 1983 and she's an illustrator (graphic design) after much nervous laughter we continued talking and we have TONS in common. she likes scrubs and grey's anatomy, she LOVES tenacious d and alterative american rock like nirvana and also worships the ground Muse walks on and also theres ben folds and sean lennon and the smashing pumpkins... i was planning to drop in on fencing until she invited her girlfriends who are equally new to the country Someyeong and Ja Kyung to our room for a rice cooker made kimchi ramen party on the floor. i obliged, and we eventually went to the corner market for a beer run. the girls had no idea we had to hide the beer, and oddly enough had no idea how to exrtacate the cans from the six pack rings. Someyeong didn't stick around and i didn't learn more than the basic facts about her except that she is supposedly the most proficient english speaker of the three. it was an evening of constant talking and english lessons fueled by alcohol and a firey hatred for awkward silence. we continued talking about our favorite girl manga (hello peach girl), asian politics, japanese culture, horoscope and blood types etc etc.until i acted sleepy and Jya Kyung left.
