Free association in studying....

I have always enjoyed picking up the dictionary and thumbing to a random page to see all of the associations between words of similar spellings.  As I come across interesting words, I check possible anagrams and look up cross references.  This is how I account for almost all of my studying these days.  I know a lot of words, but a lot of random ( Read more... )

you're funny. i was reading the dictionary this morning too. we keep it in the bathroom. i learned that HORNFELS and GAYWINGS don't lose the S.

also, OSTIOLAR = ISOLATOR (which takes just the S, not a Y, like I want it to in my fake version of English).

a little extra bit is OSTRACODE(S) and OSTRACODERM(S)
