Howdy All,

Here is a position I came across in a game on Scrabulous against Jason Brookes.

What's the verdict?

PREZES @ 07 [A] will give you an immediate 62 points, which is hard to deny, but ZEP @ 13G [AERS] = 36 has a lot to offer as well.  I have not simulated it on Quackle yet, but to me as I am ( Read more... )

SPAZ is certainly interesting, scores just six less than PREZES, and an -ER save is a great start towards the next bingo rack (though I'd prefer not to have a second E). I'm mildy surprised it didn't sim better - it's about two equity points behind PREZES, with RAZE the clear Quackle recommendation. SPAZ makes the board less friendly towards our comeback, killing the right quadrant of the board for bingos. On a really open board, SPAZ over PREZES makes a ton of sense, probably.

It's pretty obvious I'm looking to avoid work.

This was actually the first thing I put down before picking it up, but I liked the extra two tiles of turnover with the blank, 2 S's, and maybe an I for QI parallel unseen.

it feels too early in the game to me to be too intent on drawing the good in the bag, since there's so much in the bag in general. prezes felt like it gave away too much, to me.

Only two esses and one blank remaining at this point in the game means the bag is below average, which for me means I'd treat turnover as a slight negative.

Good point. Sometimes I forget to factor that into close decisions.
