Senior Prank (?)

May 03, 2005 20:33

I want this to proliferate as much as possible because it's just that funny. Plus, I already have a bunch of overdue stuff from the library so I've done my part without really having done anything at all:

"> To All Seniors-
> I've a wonderful idea for a senior prank--let's check out all of
> the books in the library. There are a lot of books in the library,
> but there are a lot of seniors. So, if each of us checks out three
or
> four nonfiction books, the library will be decimated! In order for
> this "prank" to be noticed we have to check out the books at about
the
> same time, the week of May 2nd.
> Spread the word by forwarding this to all the seniors you know.
>
> The Easy Seven Step Procedure
> 1. Forward this e-mail to your friends or tell them about the prank.
> 2. Have your student ID ready.
> 3. Walk into the library any time during the week of May 2nd.
> 4. Walk over to any nonfiction bookshelf and pick up 3 or 4 or more
> books on
> a topic. (Make it look like you're going to use the books to write a
> paper or something.)
> 5. Take your books to the counter at the front of the library and
> check them out using your ID card.
> 6. Walk away happy.
> 7. Return the books after the 8th of May.

NOTE: I just realized that our library has at least tens of thousands of volumes, if not more; the three or four thousand that go missing if everyone does their part (which itself is unlikely, at best) would hardly be enough to "decimate" the collection. Still, it's an undeniably clever idea and best of all, there's almost no chance anyone will get hurt or offended. Except dirty republicans. Oh wait, they want to do away with most of our most treasured books anyway.

Ziiiiing!!
