Ooh :)

I love how you give us Jack's perspective on Spain. Just the three of them, sharing a house... no wonder he fell completely in lust and love, and no wonder they both noticed his interest. I bet, too, that the Doctor was well aware he was awake and watching. Very, very hot, both that scene in Jack's memory and where he and Rose get a head start.

I think, though, my favourite part is this:

"Just tell me this," he said, and smoothed her hair back with one hand. "Is this a one-time thing? It's okay if it is," he added hastily. "I just want to know what to expect."

She smiled, a soft smile that went straight to the heart he'd been trying so hard to protect. "If that's what you want," she said. "But it's not what we'd hoped."

He smiled too, then: a big, broad, delighted smile that he was sure had to make him look ridiculous, but he couldn't control it. "Okay," he said, feeling oddly giddy. "Okay. 'Cos it's not what I'd hoped, either."

Just perfect. As was the Doctor walking in and getting drawn into things :)

As sahiya says, this trio really is just perfect: no immortals, no long-lived Time Lords, just three mortal humans and almost-humans who might even get a chance to grow old together as long as their day-job doesn't interfere. Can't wait for the final chapter!

There really is something about being able to write ordinary humans living an ordinary life, isn't there? Maybe it's all this time in the DW universe that's persuaded me, but I think it's just as fascinating to write two a.m. on a street corner as it is to write alien landscapes. :)

Thank you for continuing to gently poke me about this fic; as you notice, it did help! :)
