Yes! Perfect... especially the end, I was afraid Jack was going to do the noble/stupid thing of standing aside... and he won't. Good on you, Jack! And, hee! The Vortex isn't Rose, but is, and loves the Doctor and Jack just as much. Sweet. Very very sweet.

And Rose? Oh, you learned the exercise of mercy too well from the Doctor, and the expediency of a soldier from Jack all too well; practiced and seasoned for nearly a century. Terrible mercy indeed. That line when mercy ceases being a band-aid, and becomes a sharp scalpel.

That's it exactly--and the scalpel can cut (you, yourself) as well as heal (everything around you). That line is a perfect summary of the Doctor's tragedy, imho--or at least part of it.

Eeeeee! I know this is incredibly dorky of me, but I love Bad Wolf. Particularly the way you write her here--part of Rose, but not; not afraid or ashamed to use her power, especially when it means protecting the Doctor and Jack.

This is totally awesome and well worth the wait!!!!!

I love the way you have the relationship between Rose and Jack, and Rose and the Doctor without actually having to show it.
