Random post of random thoughts

Well, *a* random thought:

Anyone else ever contemplated putting a piece of paper in the oven and turning it to 475, just to see when/if the paper will catch fire?

...gah. Welcome to "two weeks left of summer and no money to go anywhere." :P

Me? *looks innocently up from where she's taking the fire screen off the fireplace because someone on HGTV said that type of firescreen looks "dated".*

Oh noes! Don't succumb to the lure of DIY in your boredom! That can end up being rather expensive in the end, no matter how cheap it seems at first . . . :P ;)

Well, ok, I'm not actually doing it; I only contemplated it. A little. Ish.

BTW, that icon of yours was what started me on the "paper in the oven" train of thought in the first place, so it's ALL YOUR FAULT.

Judging by what happens to the parchment paper I use with cookies, I'd say the paper would turn brown and crumble into ash before it actually caught fire.

Just sayin'.

I mentioned this thread to the grad student in the lab with me now and he started laughing and said if you really did it, you needed to film it so it could go on YouTube, no matter what happened.

Do not, however, take that as encouragement . . .

*is laughing hysterically*

You know, my camera takes video... ;) I don't know how to edit it, though, so it would probably end up being ten minutes of utter boredom capped with something rather underwhelming. I *am* tempted, though....
