I don't think it has anything to do with teaching - that was just her job. He was obviously a mentally disturbed individual who had been stalking her and had his own (however wacky) reasons for doing what he did.

:) Well, no, of course it doesn't really have anything to do with teaching, but it hit home hard this morning--which was already a bad morning. "Teacher shot in the parking lot of school" sends all the internal alarm bells ringing, never mind the logical reasoning portion of the brain.

Yeah, it was stalker-related, but as I said to joesther, above, the words "teacher shot in school parking lot" sends all the alarm bells ringing, no matter what the real story was.

And yeah, I thought of high-school gossip when I read that portion, too. Interesting way for the journalist to phrase it... :)

Yes, but as I mentioned above to others, the phrase "teacher shot in school parking lot" alone gives me the heebie-jeebies, no matter what the real story is.
